CLOE CERTIFICATION
CLOE Certification is a scheme enabling individuals to obtain certification for oral and written language skills used in professional or non- professional environments.
There are no pre-requisites for accessing training leading to CLOE Certification. However, the Certificate is issued from level A2 and upwards, depending on the objective set prior to the training and the candidate’s professional project.
- Total test time: 50 minutes + 20 minutes
- Format: online (please bring computer, headset, webcam and microphone)
- Levels assessed: beginner to advanced (CEFR levels A2 to C1)
- Score validity: lifetime
- Skills assessed: written and oral comprehension skills in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and a 20-minute oral interview with a CLOE assessor.
Choosing to have your language skills validated via CLOE certifications means :
- obtain certification validated by CCI France
- certify your skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- be able to finance your certifications through your Personal Training Account (CPF)
- validate and enhance your language skills for personal or professional reasons
- obtain certifications applicable in all business sectors (industry, tourism, services, logistics, healthcare, research, international trade, import/export, communication…)
The CLOE certification is organized entirely remotely in 2 parts, and you will need to present your ID for each part.
You will first take an interactive online assessment. This part lasts about 50 minutes. This written test is designed as an adaptive questionnaire based on 5 skill areas:
- vocabulary knowledge,
- mastery of grammar and syntax,
- knowledge of expressions,
- reading comprehension,
- oral comprehension.
The test’s adaptability means that you can choose questions that are more or less difficult, depending on your progress, and quickly identify your result.
At the end of this part, you’ll make an appointment for an oral interview with a CLOE assessor. The interview takes place via webcam and lasts a maximum of 20 minutes. It must be organized after the written part.
The oral part takes place one-on-one with a CLOE assessor, with no prior preparation.

CLOE certification is eligible for CPF.
The results will be e-mailed to you once the entire certification process has been verified, i.e. on average 72 hours after the oral part.

Your results are presented in the form of a certificate of results.
If you reach the CEFR objective set by your training center (in line with your professional project or pedagogical progress) you will obtain a CLOE Certificate valid for life and validated by CCI France.
